Trước before dùng thì gì: 6 thì mà bạn cần biết

Trước before dùng thì gì là một câu hỏi mà nhiều người học tiếng Anh thường gặp phải.

Trong tiếng Anh, trạng từ before có nghĩa là trước, trước khi, trước đó.

Before có thể dùng với các thì quá khứ, hiện tại và tương lai để diễn tả một hành động hay sự kiện xảy ra trước một hành động hay sự kiện khác.

Cấu trúc before ở thì quá khứ

Khi dùng before ở thì quá khứ, chúng ta có hai cấu trúc chính:

S + V (quá khứ đơn) + before + S + V (quá khứ đơn): Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra trước một hành động khác trong quá khứ.

Ví dụ:

I had breakfast before I went to school.

(Tôi đã ăn sáng trước khi đi học.)

She called me before she left.

(Cô ấy đã gọi cho tôi trước khi cô ấy rời đi.)

He finished his homework before he watched TV.

(Anh ấy đã hoàn thành bài tập về nhà trước khi xem TV.)

S + had + V (quá khứ hoàn thành) + before + S + V (quá khứ đơn): Diễn tả một hành động đã hoàn thành trước một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ.

Ví dụ:

She had already learned English before she moved to America.

(Cô ấy đã học tiếng Anh trước khi cô ấy chuyển sang Mỹ.)

He had written three books before he died.

(Anh ấy đã viết ba quyển sách trước khi anh ấy qua đời.)

They had visited Ha Long Bay before they came to Hanoi.

(Họ đã thăm Vịnh Hạ Long trước khi đến Hà Nội.)

Cấu trúc before ở thì hiện tại

Khi dùng before ở thì hiện tại, chúng ta có hai cấu trúc chính:

S + V (hiện tại đơn) + before + S + V (hiện tại đơn): Diễn tả một hành động xảy ra trước một hành động khác trong hiện tại.

Ví dụ:

I always brush my teeth before I go to bed.

(Tôi luôn đánh răng trước khi đi ngủ.)

She checks her email before she starts working.

(Cô ấy kiểm tra email trước khi bắt đầu làm việc.)

He reads the newspaper before he has breakfast.

(Anh ấy đọc báo trước khi ăn sáng.)

S + V (hiện tại hoàn thành) + before + S + V (hiện tại đơn): Diễn tả một hành động đã hoàn thành trước một thời điểm xác định trong hiện tại.

Ví dụ:

She has already finished her report before she meets her boss.

(Cô ấy đã hoàn thành báo cáo của mình trước khi gặp sếp.)

He has written two articles before he submits them to the editor.

(Anh ấy đã viết hai bài báo trước khi gửi cho biên tập viên.)

They have visited the museum before they go to the cinema.

(Họ đã thăm bảo tàng trước khi đi xem phim.)

Cấu trúc before ở thì tương lai

Khi dùng before ở thì tương lai, chúng ta có hai cấu trúc chính:

S + will + V (tương lai đơn) + before + S + V (hiện tại đơn): Diễn tả một hành động sẽ xảy ra trước một hành động khác trong tương lai.

Ví dụ:

I will call you before I leave.

(Tôi sẽ gọi cho bạn trước khi tôi đi.)

She will finish her project before she goes on vacation.

(Cô ấy sẽ hoàn thành dự án của mình trước khi đi nghỉ.)

He will buy a new car before he gets married.

(Anh ấy sẽ mua một chiếc xe mới trước khi anh ấy kết hôn.)

S + will have + V3 + before + S + V (hiện tại đơn): Diễn tả một hành động sẽ hoàn thành trước một thời điểm xác định trong tương lai.

Ví dụ:

She will have learned French before she travels to Paris.

(Cô ấy sẽ học tiếng Pháp trước khi cô ấy đi du lịch Paris.)

He will have written five books before he turns 40.

(Anh ấy sẽ viết năm quyển sách trước khi anh ấy bước sang tuổi 40.)

They will have visited all the provinces of Vietnam before they retire.

(Họ sẽ thăm hết các tỉnh của Việt Nam trước khi họ nghỉ hưu.)
